Cameroon Department of Penitentiary Administration

The Department of Penitentiary Administration is a Government structure under the Ministry of Justice.

Our main task is the execution of court sentences; this includes corrections, reformation, and preparation of the prisoners for social reinsertion.

Internationally we have been supporting the United Nations in the promotion of peace and justice under the RULE OF LAW-in the Prison Advisory section. We have also assisted the European Union in the area of capacity building of corrections personnel.  Furthermore, we have corrections officers who are nurses and medical doctors supporting in both structures mentioned above.
